In the Woods Festival
Kent, UK (2016)
Artist in Residence
A commission to create an installation for the grounds of In the Woods Festival's for its 10th Anniversary, as part of an artist in residence program.
A series of 8 'light-box' windows were built and installed on site, lit and dispersed through the trees, guiding festival-goers to 'The Quarry' stage. A set of timber frames were drilled together and thin, white muslin fabric was stapled tightly across each side, allowing LED light to permeate the structure at night, capturing the shadows of nearby trees and plants.
The structures needed to be simple to install and cheap to make and were tested and photographed indoors first (see photographs below), On site they were secured with invisible wire and tent-pegs to the uneven forest floor.
